The event we, cinephiles, look forward to every year was finally here, also accompanied by the glitz and glam that we always keep an eye out for!

As thrilled as we were witnessing our favorite stars taking home the greatest award out there for an artist, we can’t help but prize jewelry as the biggest fashion hit from the iconic Oscar night. Just like the unconventional champagne carpet (could you unsee that?), the sparklers flaunted by our fashion savvy celebs had us hooked at the first glance. Statement-worthy would be an understatement to describe these Oscar jewelry moments that took their turns at wooing us over.

It seemed like Bold Necklaces, Chic Earrings, and fashion-forward Rings studded with colored stones (to everyone’s surprise) & sparkly Diamonds were having their own gala! Meanwhile, we clearly got a lot to crush on until next year Oscars. (We owe you a big thanks, celebrity stylists). But hey, don’t feel left out already if you didn’t get a chance to witness all these iconic (and Oscar-approved) jewelry statements. We’re here to walk you through the best of them:

The Most Striking Oscar Jewelry of 2023

  • When Green Stones took the center stage

    Jessica Chastain

    Jessica Chastain

Spring is here and the abundance of green stones that we got to witness truly set the vibe right. Jessica Chastain led this trend from the front as she flaunted her gorgeous green necklace that featured about 80 carats of Tsavorite accentuated with Diamonds. The statement making choice of teaming up her sparkling gown with the youthful pop of color of this green necklace indeed made her stand out.

    Sofia Carson

    Sofia Carson

She came and she conquered- not just the stage while live singing ‘Applause’ but also the red carpet as she showcased her grand green necklace. This statement piece was studded with a row of 7 Octagonal Emeralds accompanied by sparkling White Diamonds in a number of shapes. Who thought a simple silk white gown could look so breathtaking paired with an emerald necklace?

  • Diamonds can never go out of trend

    Michelle Yeoh

    Michelle Yeoh

The night was in the name of Michelle Yeoh and just like a queen, she owned it. Apart from stealing the Best Actress award for her stellar performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once, she slayed as she was seen dripped in diamonds (weighing a whopping 175 carats). Or if we talk more precisely, Pear Diamonds (talk about fancy shapes ruling over!). The glow was real as she was all about sparkles with a massive Pear Diamond ring and dramatic Diamond Dangle Drop Earrings. Also while kick starting a new trend, she proudly flaunted a Diamond Necklace as a hairband.

    Halle Bailey

    Halle Bailey

As excited as we are to see Halle take over the cinema in the iconic remake of The Little Mermaid, she looked no less surreal than a pretty mermaid herself as she walked the red carpet. What dazzled up her spring green dress was the fine choice of sticking to Diamonds. She chose simple Diamond Studs and a classic Diamond Necklace, making us realize that trends may come and go, but the timelessness of Diamonds is here to stay. Tell us you didn’t confuse her for a Disney Princess!

    Lady Gaga

    Lady Gaga

Can the classic combination of Bold Black Gown and Dazzling Diamonds ever go out of trend? Lady Gaga wouldn’t let us take yes for an answer. By complementing her sheen black gown and bold red lipstick with a pair of simple Diamond Studs and (interestingly) a Diamond collar necklace, she woke up and chose to slay. The look was a unique mix of dramatic, classy and everything in between.

    Zoe Saldana

    Zoe Saldana

The Avatar: Way of Water star Zoe Saldana and her royal fashion choices sure know the way to our hearts! But this time, she stole it as she kept it understated and subtle with a nude pink colored slip dress. What summed up the entire look was her vintage cum feminine jewelry choices. She went for a statement making diamond and pearl ring, but the ultimate stunner for us was the antique Diamond Collar Necklace that complemented her gorgeous collarbones. For the earrings, she made the most graceful choice with a lean pair of Diamond Pendant Ear Clips.

  • Are Pink Stones the new cool?

    Florence Pugh

    Florence Pugh

Ever since the barbie-core aesthetic has been on the loose, women have been loving to embrace their femininity with Pink Stones. We weren’t expecting to see them make an appearance at the Oscars though. But surprisingly, Florence Pugh was not just in the mood to take a risk with a pair of Pink Earrings but also teamed it up such that we couldn’t help but take notice. Pink Tourmaline was her gemstone of choice this time. She went for a simple Pink Tourmaline Drop Earrings but chose drama while opting for the necklace, both complementing a pair of nude couture gown and black shots. Talk about experimenting and slaying at it!

    Emily Blunt

    Emily Blunt

Who says White and a pink pop of color don’t go together? We disagree big time and Emily Blunt is the reason! She graced the carpet looking like a total diva in a neutral colored gown with a romantic yet extravagant pair of Pear Shape Pink Sapphire Chandelier Earrings, beautifully emphasized by petite diamonds. The metal she went for was the Classic White Gold. The entire look seemed so put together that if Oscars had an award for the best dressed, she could be a promising candidate.

  • Snake Jewelry crawled its way to the Oscars

    Cara Delevinge

    Cara Delevinge

Choosing Drama while accessorizing is not for everyone, but Cara Delevinge is sure an exception. The carpet may not not be red, but she slipped into a one shoulder all red gown taking the glam quotient a notch up. But the surprise element was the Snake-inspired jewelry she chose to slay in. And Spoiler alert: it didn’t look scary at all. Her show-stealing jewelry showcased a snake necklace studded with Pear Shape Emeralds and Pave Diamonds embedded in the classic White Gold. She also had a matching pair of Snake Studs and Diamond Bracelet on.

    Angela Bassett

    Angela Bassett

The world knew that Angela was a standout after her incredible performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. And she totally lived up to that reputation of hers after she became the highlight of the night by opting for a a Purple Organza Gown and a dramatic Snake Necklace. Surprisingly, the Necklace looked as if it was made to outshine the look. The Snake Necklace was studded with Diamonds that weighed over 50 carats and wrapped around her neck making a stunning statement.

  • Toi Et Moi Ring is having a moment

    Danai Gurira

    Danai Gurira

The Toi Et Moi Ring trend isn’t here to leave any soon and Danai Gurira reminded us of that yet again. She wasn’t just a sheer epitome of class in Wakanda Forever but also in the Oscars. Going for the deadly combination of black and white, she paired her high-toned black gown with a Toi Et Moi Diamond Ring that caught our eye. The ring featured twin Pear Shape Diamonds. She chose to team them up with with a pair of showy Diamond Ear Cuffs, Bracelet and Choker as a hair wrap (celebs can’t seem to get enough of that trend, isn’t it?)

  • Surprise Visit: The Yellow-Orange Stones

    Deepika Padukone

    Deepika Padukone

It was the Bollywood Actress’ Oscar debut, but she didn’t look like a fresher when it came to showcasing a high class glamor without overdoing! She flaunted an off shoulder black gown that demanded to be paired with something phenomenal to complement her plunging neckline. And she didn’t disappoint but surprised all of us by going for an unconventional Yellow Sapphire Necklace. It featured a Pear Shape Yellow Sapphire beautified by White and Yellow Diamonds. If that wasn’t enough for stealing our hearts, she also went for two Diamond Rings and a Bracelet slipped on over her gloves.

    Sandra Oh

    Sandra Oh

We never thought Yellow-Orange stones would go on to dominate the fashion statement in Oscars like that. But Sandra Oh proved us wrong as she joined Deepika in bringing the trend of Sunny Stones to Oscars. And if you failed to notice, she also channeled the spring vibe while at it as she went for a floral Citrine necklace (and Orange Couture gown). The necklace featured a deep orange Citrine decorated with Blue Sapphires around in a floral pattern. The piece was oozing a spring cum vintage look which is something you don’t get to witness everyday.

  • The March favorite: Aquamarine

    Laverne Cox

    Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox’s look was a hit or miss but we would count it as not only a big hit, but also far away from ordinary. What we also loved about the look was that she was glowing in icy blue hues of the famous March Birthstone- Aquamarine Dangle Earrings. (Who says Aquamarine isn’t for the red carpet). The pair blended well with her blue-black ensemble featuring blue overlays with a black satin skirt and detached sleeves. She seamlessly pulled of the entire look and gave us a major reason to crush on Aquamarine.

  • Brown may be the new Black

    Rihanna

    Rihanna

We sure think that nobody sets trends quite like Rihanna. The Barbadian singer had to stand out since she was also a nominee for the best original song. She was in the mood to go all dramatic with her look but chose the most unexpected color for it (Brown). She went for a chocolate brown leather dress with a pair of earrings brimming in not one, nor two but three different colors. Precisely, it was a pair of multi stone dangle drop earrings flaunting brown and yellow diamonds with a petite emerald in between. We surely see her spark the trend of Brown Stones. What else could we expect from a fashion designer herself!

    Mindy Kaling

    Mindy Kaling

If Mindy Kaling’s look for the Oscars didn’t make you give her fashion designer a big shout out, we don’t know what will. She was the epitome of class and royalty! And she didn’t shy away from going for Classics with a white panel dress featuring detached long sleeves. But what caught our attention was how she teamed up this classic cum bold gown with earrings of the most contrasting color: Brown. Yes you heard that right! She opted for a pair of Smoky Quartz Pendant Earrings crafted in white and rose gold, leaning down to her shoulders (almost). Her choice of accessory not only dramatized the look but made us realize that the combination of White and Brown could be the new White and Black (what say?). Also, it is a gemstone we don’t usually see celebrities grace the red carpet in (TILL NOW, of course).

Parting Note

Oscars, apart from being the star studded event where our favorite artists are acknowledged, is also an event we look forward to for major style inspo. The trends are set and broken at this cinema gala and we love every bit of it. This time, Oscar was all about shining out with a little pop of color as Celebs opted for colored gemstone jewelry as well along with the conventional diamonds (that we usually see). Though many of them may have taken the Oscar home for their phenomenal performances, you surely will have a tough time deciding who gets to take the award for putting on the best accessories.
